Hi – my 5 year old has has eczema since a baby. It’s particularly bad on wrists, knees and ankles but is constantly present elsewhere. Sleepless nights, scratching until he bleeds – it’s heartbreaking and so frustrating. We can control it only by using elk on – nothing else seems to work. Our GP won’t refer us to a dermatologist either. I’ve just read your blog about Dr Aron with great interest and hope and wondered if you were still having such good results?

Hi, yes, my son is what I would call ‘eczema free’ – in reality he still gets a little redness on backs of knees and his hands. I expect more as the weather gets colder. However, it is now easily manageable. I would recommend Dr Aron to anyone and am so glad someone recommended him to me. I will say though, that my son is now 7yrs and that does also seem to be a magic age for eczema improvement but I could see the Dr Aron treatment work wonders in the intervening period. I would recommend that you also see a different GP or insist on a referral. They may be reluctant as many areas don’t have enough dermatologists so the delay is dreadful. Just keep on pursuing it. I found at age 5 it was hard as school could/would not manage his eczema in the way I could at home so it was really hard to keep it under control. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello
I have read your story about ‘my itchy boy’ and feel like I am reading about my own son who has had eczema since 3 months old. He is now almost 10 and I have yet to find a cream that really does work. I was told by a specialist at the Dermatology department in Edinburgh that I should give up trying and accept that he will always have eczema, which I do accept but feel very frustrated to be told to give up! I never want to give up trying to improve his skin and would like to try the Dr Aron cream but can you please advise where I order it from?
Many thanks

Hi, so sorry to hear that. We were in a similar position with the NHS – they could only really offer us treatments that would have other potential repercussions for his health and would impact our daily lives (and stress levels!) negatively. Although his eczema is ‘under control’ it is not disappeared. However, under control means sleep, not constant scratching (so making it worse all the time). I am happy that we can manage this with a topical solution rather than other solutions (or no solution) we were offered.
Dr Aron’s website is the best way to go: http://www.draron.com/getting-started/ I hope it will work for you too. Good luck and I’d love to know how you get on. xxx

I’m looking a cotton trousers for my 2 boys as they got eczema. I’ve bought 12-13 years old trousers but they are too small for them. Can you tell where I can find 14-15 years old trousers.

Hi, I’m afraid MyItchyBoy is nowhere near that size yet, so I’ve not looked for such big sizes. Have you tried contacting http://www.ecooutfitters.co.uk directly?
