MyItchyBoy has suffered atopic eczema since he was a few months old. His wrists are almost always dry and itchy but eczema on the rest of his body depends on so many other things. He has food allergies and intolerances that affect his eczema but on the whole we manage to lead what we consider […]
Only good reactions to good music
Something a little bit different. I thought that I might introduce you to something that should only give you a good reaction. Each of these bands or musicians have personal experience of anaphylaxis and allergic reactions. Just sharing the love and joy of life when not having to worry about what you’re eating or touching. […]
London Allergy Show
So, despite the trains not being on our side and getting up too late we still made it to The Allergy Show on Sunday. Sadly, we missed the parent seminar on having an allergic child. We decided to not worry about missing it as sleep was far more important that morning (MIB did not sleep […]
Is there anything I can eat?
We’ve been trying to arrange a weekend away to stay with friends. MIB got interested in the trip as soon as he heard they had cats. Although cats sometimes flare up his eczema, it is usually mild and he loves cats. They don’t love him so much as he is rather full-on with the attention […]
Not a great day
Poor MIB must have spent most of last night scratching as his back looks like he has a rash as there are so many tiny scratches all over it 🙁 Have cut his nails, applied a lot of cream throughout the day and have my fingers crossed for tonight. After a few weeks of really […]
Milkshake Monkey-ness
I have been having trouble cleaning MIB’s milkshake beaker. It’s one of those tall ones with the curly straw around the outside. Eventually I bought some pipe cleaners and tried one of those. We managed to clean the top half quite easily by poking it down the straw. Unfortunately the ‘long’ pipe cleaners I bought […]
Joys of Spring
It was lovely today to see the daffodils out, new buds growing on branches and even berries starting on the hedgerows. I was not, however, so pleased to see the blossom. It looks like hayfever will be earlier this year than last. Ho-hum….
You know you’re no longer needed when….
I spent a good five minutes earlier trying to persuade MIB that having an afternoon nap would be a genius plan and that on awaking, there’d be time to go to the playground. He in turn took a few mins before replying: ‘But, I don’t think they’ll be time to go to the playground Mummy […]
Just love that thick cream
I have recently taken to wearing one of my husband’s t-shirts for MIB’s bedtime. Am not sure if my husband is too chuffed at me choosing which of his beloved t-shirts should be donated to the cause, but it does at least save my own tops from having a permanent oily mark on the chest.
Cream, cream, everywhere
The carpet on MIB’s bedroom floor is not in a great state. Ideally, I’d like a solid floor covering, but it is not our house, so we don’t get the choice. The carpet where we put his cream on twice a day has a sort of sheen to it these days. There are also a […]
