When we were invited to attend a gathering in a pub in London on a Sunday afternoon the people were more in front of mind than food. However, since we were arriving at lunchtime, I did pack MIB’s bag with snacks and a small sandwich just in case. These days it is much easier to feed him out and about so I tend not to worry as much.
What should have occurred to me was to look the pub up to see if there was an online menu. When we got there, he was happy to eat the food I’d packed but then kept asking for ‘proper food’ as everyone else around us ordered pizzas.
It makes me feel like I’m being a bad parent that I didn’t double-check but sometimes there is enough stuff to remember in a day and some things do slip. Sometimes, I’m just out of practice.
