MIB had just finished having a pee before his bath tonight when I told him I needed to go too. So he put down the seat and announced: “There you go Mummy, you can sit on the big hole seat, because you’ve got a big bottom”. Now, I know that this is just toddler speak […]

MIB’s packing list
We’re away this weekend, so I am busy making piles of stuff we’re going to need on any available flat surfaces around the house. These piles will hopefully start grouping themselves together Thursday night while I’m asleep so I will be able to find everything quickly come Friday morning. MIB’s packing List for weekend away: […]
Gigglefest
What is more fun than a good 20 minutes of raspberry blowing and raucous laughter coming from a toddler to cheer you up? *happy sigh*
Droopy drawers
Baggy trousers are a fact of life with a child covered in emollient. I now have a pair of pj bottoms staring at me from the arm of the sofa, rolling their eyes at my enthusiasm for getting out the sewing box. I know it won’t take long and that it is not yet warm […]
You know you’re no longer needed when….
I spent a good five minutes earlier trying to persuade MIB that having an afternoon nap would be a genius plan and that on awaking, there’d be time to go to the playground. He in turn took a few mins before replying: ‘But, I don’t think they’ll be time to go to the playground Mummy […]
Stinky Shampoo
***NOTE: We no longer use this shampoo for MyItchyBoy*** I discovered that a solid shampoo called Soak and Float shampoo from Lush has done wonders for MIB’s flaky scalp. We saw good results in almost three days and now use it about once a week. The only trouble is, the stuff doesn’t smell so good when […]
Party Invite Angst
So far we have avoided all Christmas and summer parties at playgroups and nursery, etc. without MIB noticing. Thankfully, it has been easy as he has been too young to know what he’s missing. However, there is a change coming. Now he is at a nursery and will start preschool this year, it will be […]
Can you fix it Bob?
MIB loves Bob the Builder. It is a phase that I am accepting of, although I am not a fan of the programme myself. However, my opinion went down considerably this month when MIB spotted a terrible typo in the magazine. After much discussion with me ‘correcting’ him, I had to concede, that actually he […]
Sleep Aversion Syndrome
At the moment we are struggling with his skin being used as a procrastination tool. I don’t think he has full realisation that his skin is such a sensitive issue with us parents, it is just one thing in a long line of “I wants” – “I want a drink”, “I want the light on”, […]
Just love that thick cream
I have recently taken to wearing one of my husband’s t-shirts for MIB’s bedtime. Am not sure if my husband is too chuffed at me choosing which of his beloved t-shirts should be donated to the cause, but it does at least save my own tops from having a permanent oily mark on the chest.
