We’ve visited the Allergy Show in London for the past few years. Last year was the best yet for us I think. We got to meet a lot of lovely people and try a good few new products (new to us as well as new to the market).
This post is about what we discovered last year at the London Allergy Show and what is still enriching our lives!
Read about our visits to the London Allergy Show from 2013 and 2012.
Ilumi Meals
Our top find I think is undoubtedly Ilumi meals. They had a great stand at the show and the free tasting meant that we could be sure it was worth spending money on. Over the last year we’ve found Ilumi a saviour at times when we have got home late, miscalculated food shopping or I’m too lazy and it’s just dinner for me and MyItchyBoy 🙂 It’s great to know there is something safe in the cupboard that I can feed MyItchyBoy and even better for taking on. Of course, the other great advantage is that they are super quick to heat up and eat.
Smooze Fruit Ices
We’re left with the guava flavour as the others are stone fruits, but MyItchyBoy is a big fan. They’re also close to commercial ice lollies (as opposed to our homemade ones made with just squash). A good thing is that they don’t need to go in the freezer until you need them. We’ve had trouble sourcing them from time to time, so when we do find them, we tend to bulk-buy and only add one box to the freezer at any one time.
The Chocolatier‘s Water Ganache – Sea Salted Caramel Spread
This stuff is a right treat for dairy-free chocoholics like me 🙂 The jar needs to be kept in the fridge and doesn’t have a long use-by date and needs to be bought online. If you miss chocolate spread, then this is the stuff for you. But for me, there’s nothing better to add to ice cream (Swedish Glace), or (my personal favourite) is to sandwich it between two Nairn chocolate biscuits. It’s a rare thing, when wheat and dairy free, when you really feel you are eating something indulgent and chocolatey 🙂 Contains soya so MyItchyBoy only has a small amount and doesn’t know about the biscuit sandwiches.
Venice Bakery
The pizza bases are really good – seasoned are our favourite – and the flat breads are great accompaniments as well as making pizza bases. I do enjoy these but due to having to buy online from yet another separate retailer and the cost means we don’t buy them as often as I would like.
Scratchsleeves
These are fantastic and I would highly recommend to any parents struggling with itchy children at night. They are fully-enclosed sleeves that cover the hands. The material is soft and stops the child damaging the skin while still allowing them to rub the skin. We found that Scratchsleeves really do help MyItchyBoy sleep more peacefully. Now just need to work out how to stop him taking them off in the night!…super glue….double-sided sticky tape……
Sadly, despite trying and buying these at the Allergy Show and really enjoying them, we have failed to find them sold anywhere since:
Riso Gallo Gluten Free fusilli pasta
Dell’Ugo Gluten Free penne pasta

Great list of favourites! I am really looking forward to the Allergy show. It will be my first time going and looking at your list and the fact the only product I knew was the scratchsleeves, I am very excited! I was wondering whether it would be worth going, especially since I will have to bring my newborn with me, but you have definitely sold it to me. If I can find new food for my toddler to eat, it will be worth the visit! Mel from http://www.lecoindemel.com

That’s great Mel! I’m sure you’ll have a good time. So nice to find so many things they can eat in one place. Take a big bag with you to stock up on deals or hard to find products.
